About
The Creative Child Place opened it's first location in the spring of 2002. Nestled into the forest between a farm and a pond, the natural world provided the children much to explore. The program was built on the premise that happy children explore, play, question, and discover. This school provides children with the opportunity to do just that! Many bare feet, dirty hands, and joyful children later, we have welcomed the Discovery School.
In 2019 we had the opportunity to provide a much needed tuition preschool program to the Montague area, this is when we partnered with the Montague School District to house a Discovery classroom at the M.A.C.C. building. Due to the expanding preschool programs at our Whitehall location, we were able to renovate the building in front of Albers Dr., to create a stand alone infant and young toddler house. This building is cozy and home-like, so appropriate for a little ones first experience in programming. The 2021-22 school year marks our first season offering tuition free GSRP. This partnership between Michigan Department of Education, Muskegon Area ISD, and Discovery School. We are excited to house this asset to our community. Here we are 2023! After a long year and a half, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Discovery School- RP Area location. This replicates all of the wonderful programming at Discovery Whitehall and The Creative Child Place. We have access to meandering trails, creeks, RP School grounds, and our very own 2 acres of space conveniently located in the heart of RP School District. |
