Employee Orientation

Welcome to the Discovery School! We are a fun group of teachers that are dedicated to playful learning- where play is serious business! Although we offer childcare, we are most definitely teachers and consider the word "daycare" an under valued word. Because we are licensed through the State of Michigan, following the guiding principles of NAEYC, directed by the Michigan Department of Educations Quality Standards, and participate in the Great Start Initiative there is a lot to learn. We have posted just the beginning of this process below.

Required Paperwork

Background check/Fingerprinting 65.00
TB (Health Department or Workplace Health) Needs to be completed on a Monday or Tuesday as it needs to be checked 2 days later.

MI Registry

You are required to complete Health and Safety Courses 1,2, & refresher courses. Create a login to MIRegistry and we will assign the trainings.

Safe Sleep

At the login screen, enter your User ID and password and click Go. First time users will need to click the Create New User button and complete the Create New User pop-up. Once logged in, locate the "Infant Safe Sleep for Child Care Providers" course (Catalog ID: I0200) and click the Launch Course icon to the left of the course name
